Attention!  Admission formalities in Turkey change from 1 January 2015.

It will be necessary to have a national identity card or an individual passport, the period of validity of which exceeds at least 180 days the date of entry into Turkey (against 90 days previously)

French, Swiss and Luxembourg nationals are always exempt from visas for a tourist stay not exceeding 90 days, over a period of 180 days, from the day of entry into Turkey. The stay can be continuous or split.

On the other hand, the tourism visa is still obligatory for Belgians and Canadians. This visa, valid for a period of 90 days, can be used in several stays for a period of up to 180 days.

Moreover, since January 1, 2014, the validity of the French national identity cards issued between January 1, 2004 and December 31, 2013, is automatically extended by 5 years; These cards are now valid for 15 years. However, since this amendment is not materialized on the laminated document, the Turkish authorities do not recognise this extension. The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly recommends the use of a valid passport to an CNI with an expired date of validity.
